Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the purpose of higher spectrum efficiency, cognitive radio based wireless systems using TV white space (TVWS) have been drawing a lot of attentions. The authors proposed a guard band aggregation scheme which uses multiple guard bands between TV signals. Considering OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is used for digital TV signals, it is expected to reduce interference from TVWS devices digital TV signals, thus we can increase the usable bandwidth and transmission power of TVWS device if symbol timing and frequency of TVWS OFDM signals are synchronized to those of TV OFDM signals. This paper proposes application of synchronous OFDM for TVWS guard band aggregation scheme and evaluates adjacent channel interference reduction by using synchronous OFDM for TVWS devices, and compares performance of synchronous OFDM with that of single carrier modulation. Furthermore, it discusses the permissible transmitting power of the TVWS devices when the proposed synchronous OFDM is employed.
