Abstract(in English) In the wide area sensor networks, a directive antenna is useful to increase spectrum efficiency, lower sensor node energy consumption, and mitigate interferences from other systems. Although beam-forming antennas are good candidates to cover spotted areas surrounding a base station by "physically one design of antenna", there have been issues to be solved on beam-forming antenna such as large antenna physical size and high side lobe level. In order to solve these issues, we have proposed beam-forming antennas composed of narrowly spaced patch antenna arrays. Furthermore, to cover all areas with beam-forming antennas, 2-D beam-forming with small size antennas are required. This paper shows the proposed beam-forming antenna offers a 2-D beam-forming antenna composed of narrowly spaced patch array antennas to cover 360 degrees.
