Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recent studies have suggested the enhancement of visual processing in peri-personal space. We attempted to measure this attentional bias by using flash-lag effect (FLE). FLE is the effect that a flash stimulus aligned with a moving stimulus is perceived as displayed behind. We first confirmed that FLE was smaller at attended location than at unattended location so that attention can be estimated by FLE. Then, we found that the magnitude of FLE was different under different hand positions. Establishment of the method to measure attentional modulation in peri-hand space using FLE is expected to reduce the burden on subjects.
