Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Generally tachometer generators are used to calculate the train running distance under on-board systems. However, in this calculation it is required to compensate the effects caused by wheel slips and skids. Therefore, we are developing a method which combines tachometer generators and inertial sensors to calculate train running distances independent of number of wheel rotation. By applying this method to two different types of train vehicles, simulation analysis results using managed time stamped data show that it is possible to apply this method in the case where wheel slips and skids detection thresholds are set considering the line gradient and vehicle gradient in the pitch direction. Considerations in applying this method are also described.
