A Temperature Monitor Using Ring-Oscillators on FPGA

Abstract(in English) On-chip temperature monitors are often used to guarantee the reliability of VLSIs and monitors using ring oscillators have been proposed. When the temperature monitors are implemented in FPGA, estimation accuracy will be varied much by a large amount of wire delay variance. This paper discusses a structure of a temperature monitor using ring oscillators on FPGA and proposes a design method that can reduce wire delay variation of ring oscillators. Then, the experimental data shows that the proposed ring oscillators are able to realize a high accuracy temperature monitor.
