Abstract(in English) | With advanced features and the diversification of services for an automobile, various problems of the information security have been arising by connection with the external networks including vehicle-to-vehicle communications or vehicle-to-infrastructure communications. The external connectivity of a vehicle is used by a car navigation service, a telematics service, remote diagnostics, the advanced automatic collision notification system, etc. In this paper, we discuss the security issues of the attacking and the protection mechanism with assuming an in-vehicle unit that is always connected to the Internet. We have designed and implemented a prototype system that can attack the vehicle from the external network. We applied to a real vehicle, and make sure that it is possible to achieve spoofing and DoS attacks to the in-vehicle network, and make discussion about the protection mechanisms. |
