Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Vehicle-roadside-vehicle relaying scheme can improve the reliability of ITS V2V communication. However, two issues prevent the scheme achieving high reliability. First, hidden terminal (HT) problem strongly affects packet reception rate at the relay station (RS). Relay scheme with sectorized RS was proposed to eliminate the HT problem. Second, relaying increases air traffic which cancels the improvement by relay when the number of vehicles is large. In order to reduce the increase of air traffic and improve the performance of relaying, packet combining relay (PCRL) scheme has been proposed. This paper proposes PCRL scheme with the sectorized RS, which can mitigate packet collision at RS as well as reduce the increase of air traffic. Improvement by the proposed scheme is presented with the results from network simulations.
