Synthesis of Air Electrode Catalysis Based on Lanthanum Manganite Oxides for the Cathode of Li-Air Secondary Batteries

Abstract(in English) To investigate the effects of carbon supports for La_<0.6>Sr_<0.4>MnO_3(LSM)/C catalysts on the catalytic activity and electrooxdation durability, we used Ketjen black (KB) and two kinds of carbon nanotubes with different diameter of 110 nm (CNT(φ100 nm)) and 20-30 nm (CNT(φ100 nm)). The LSM/C catalysts synthesized by a reversed micelle (RM) method exhibited that the carbon support with large surface area and high graphitization had advantages for the dispersion of LSM particle, oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity and durability. As a result, the LSM/CNT (φ20-30 nm) showed the best performances as air electrode catalyst. We also tried to examine the effects of partial substitution of Mn site by the other elements, i.e. the synthesis of La_<0.6>Sr_<0.4>Mn_<1-x>B_xO_3(LSMB_x, B=Fe(F), Co(C), Ni(N)), on the catalytic activities including oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity. The examinations clarified that ORR and OER activities were improved by Co and Fe substitutions, respectively.
