Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Japanese patients are increasingly opting to self-medicate and thus switching from prescription to over-the-counter; therefore, vanious judgments concerning appropriate use must be made based on the information contained in drug packages and inserts. In addition to the wrapping paper generally used to package powdered and granulated drugs and the press-through packages (PTP) used for pills and tablets, various other technologies and techniques are being utilized for pharmaceutical packaging and notion. In the present study, we examined packaging notation and ease-of-opening through the mobility and sensory characteristics of users. Specifically, we identified characteristics from an experiment that involved the opening both of medicine wrapping paper under different notation conditions and of PTP Sheets with varying pocket strengths.
