Toward QoE-centric Operation of Telecommunication Services(Special Talk)

Abstract(in English) The rapid spread of mobile terminals like smartphones diversifies services over a communication network. The quality of experience (QoE) of current communication services is affected by not only network performance but many elements such as the terminals, servers, and applications. That is different from the QoE of conventional telephone services that has been directly related to a network performance. Therefore, the network operators have to management the QoE of multiple services in addition to the detection and restoration of the network failure. In this paper, I propose a new concept called "QoE-centric operation" and introduce the network science which is a key factor for success the concept.
