Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigated the polarization characteristics of UV-LED with multilayer subwavelength grating. The grating structure was optimized for polarization control by the eigen-mode analysis within the grating and the investigation of the field distribution with finite time difference domain method. The optimized structure was fabricated on GaN based UV-LED. The electroluminescence spectra from the UV-LED showed highly polarized emission. The extinction ratio reached to 11. We succeeded in demonstrating highly polarized UV-LED by using multilayer subwaveength grating.
