Abstract(in English) Rapid growth of mobile traffic pushes the demand for higher capacity wireless access systems. There are three approaches to increase the system capacity, spectrum efficiency improvement, more dense deployment, and more band width in millimeter wave bands. This paper introduces current IEEE standardization trends of wireless access in 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 60 GHz bands. For 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, a new task group ax (TGax) was created in May 2014 to improve user's Quality of Experience (QoE) in high density wireless LAN environments. Use cases, target value and some of candidate technologies are explained overviewing the current discussion in TGax. For 60 GHz band, we will describe new use cases which are currently being discussed in IEEE802.11 and IEEE802.15.
