Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A multi-harmonic numerical calculation method is employed to optimize two-cell distributed PAs with two independent RF inputs. It is shown ideally that wideband high efficiency operation (in the 70%-range) over more than 100% fractional bandwidth is possible in this setup. To reduce circuit complexity the functionality of the two inputs is reproduced by a passive single input network. In nonlinear circuit simulation, using proper GaN transistor models, the implementation achieves 48 dBm of output power at 63-75% drain efficiency from 1.5-4.5 GHz.
