Transfer Characteristics of Undersea WPT System with Spiral Resonators

Abstract(in English) We have studied a WPT system for undersea power transfer. A new selection rule to decide the proper resonator diameter is found through measured unloaded Q and coupling coefficient for resonators with various diameters. The dependence of unloaded Q on thickness of seawater between resonators is crucial for the selection. Based on the data for single or double spiral resonators, we have compared the measured and calculated transfer efficiency by kQ product, and finally chosen the litz wire for the double spiral resonators, attaining the highest efficiency.
