Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, "seamless optical and radio transmission system", based on the combination of analog Radio-over-Fiber and W-band millimeter-wave transmissions, is described as one of the candidate technologies for rapid recovery of communication lifeline in case of large-scale optical fiber failure caused by disasters and so on. A technique for monitoring fiber failure that enables autonomously switching the failed fiber link to the wireless backup link, one of the key function in such a system, is proposed and its performance is experimentally verified. The experimental results for investigating signal quality degradation in a seamless optical and radio transmission system are also described.
