Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cloud service providers set service level objectives (SLOs) based on service level agreements (SLAs) made with their customers. The providers need to calculate the SLOs manually and show the calculated ones to the customers. Such manual calculations require a lot of operational cost for the providers. In this paper, we propose a monitoring platform that has a function to calculate the SLOs automatically. The proposed platform can detect service level degradations and their root causes by using logs and rules. We estimated operational costs in a typical use case that creates monthly SLA compliance reports which include availability of each virtual machine (VM). The result showed that the proposed platform reduced 125 person-days for creating the reports for 10,000 VMs compared to traditional manual operations. It is suggested that the proposed platform is effective for calculating the SLOs.
