Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Watching video on mobile device becomes increasingly popular. However, most video contents are originally intended to display on big screens. To show on a mobile display, video must be scaled down; however, it is difficult to watch. We proposed cloud-client architecture for real-time cropping only important video contents to fit small mobile displays. "Importance map", which indicates important part of each frame, is generated at the cloud and transmitted along with the video stream to the client. The client whose screen size and aspect ratio are heterogeneous then uses the map to crop the most important areas.
