Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cardinality is known to be informative to find various network threats. Recently, we have developed methods to analyze IP header information and firewall logs. These methods use cardinality information to find Internet Virus, P2P software, etc. Although our past studies reveal the potential of cardinality analysis, the functionality of the systems we have developed was limited. In this study, we have developed a general purpose software, named vicar, which can analyze various type of cardinality. We also propose a system configuration which uses vicar to analyze various data in network to protect it from various network threats.
