Abstract(in English) The current explosive increase in the data traffic causes a rapid expansion in the total throughput for board-to-board signal transmissions of routers. These routers will require a parallel multi-channel transceiver at a data rate on each channel beyond 25-Gb/s because of the need for downsizing. We developed a compact optical transceiver, which consists of a four-channel 25-Gb/s DFB-LD and PIN-PD arrays, and CMOS transceiver chip. To alleviate degradation of the optical link due to power-supply variations, a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) with power-supply noise cancellation and a fully differential LD driver are proposed. Total power consumption was only 2.2 W, and a optical transmission experiments were successfully conducted at 25 Gb/s.
