Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, we proposed individual loss distribution measurement method "End reflection assisted Brillouin analysis" for PON maintenance. This technique analyzes reflected probe pulses yielded by end reflectors. On the other hand, there are assumed that the broken PONs without end reflectors in practical use cases. In this paper, we present the monitoring of broken PON branches using our proposed end-reflection assisted Brillouin analysis technique, by using weak end-reflection, which occurs at the broken fiber end.
