Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Reducing the power consumed by base station is an urgent requirement. We evision "Green BTS" which is a base station using PV and storage battery for decreasing peak electricity demand, and show that it is possible to reduce electricity consumption, especially peak loads, by using a voltage-controlled rectifier. This approach is implemented in the Green Power Controller, a technique developed for the green base station. An example of the system is constructed with MATLAB/Simulink. Trials of an implemented controller confirm that the control proposal is effective in reducing electricity consumption by suppressing the peaks in electric power consumption. |
