Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When a disaster happens in houses and buildings, indoor localization for survivors and rescuers is the most essential, but conventional localization methods such as using GPS (Global Positioning System) and anchor nodes with known locations are often unavailable. On the other hand, when we estimate the location of a target in a building using outside RSS (Received Signal Strength) measurements, high accuracy localizations requires a knowledge on the architectural structure of the building such as wall arrangement, but it is often impossible. In this paper, we propose an indoor localization by means of RSS-based wireless tomography, and we evaluate its accuracy by computer simulations.
