Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A number of techniques have been used to detect eye movements and each technique has advantages and disadvantages. Electrooculography (EOG) is the most popular and simple technique for measuring eye movement, but it has many drawbacks include discomfort associated with electrodes positioned around the eyes and facial expressions influence on the quality of the signals. In this paper, we present a new technique based on EEG signals for classification of eye movements. Our research has shown that the same data can be obtained via either EEG or EOG signals using the same number of electrodes with almost the same classification accuracy.
