Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is possible that higher frequency bands, such as 3.5 GHz band, compared to frequency bands widely used for cellular networks will be applied to small cells that have smaller cell radius than conventional macro cell due to their propagation characteristics. In case of small cell deployments, increase of the number of handovers due to their small cell radius becomes an important issue and it raises degradations of user throughput and quality of user experience. Dual connectivity technique, which makes it possible to use macro cell and small cell separately for control signal and user signal, respectively, is now being standardized as its solution. To examine the potential of dual connectivity technique, we constructed experimental system and achieved proving tests. In this paper, we introduce our experimental networks and pre-tests.
