Fast and Flexgrid Wavelength Switching of Narrow-Linewidth TDA-CSG-DR Lasers

Abstract(in English) As characteristics required for wavelength tunable lasers, a narrow line width of several hundred kHz and a wavelength resolution of 6.25 GHz for flexgrid are important. Also fast wavelength switching time such as 1 msec or less is desirable for the next generation communication systems. A laser device such as TDA-CSG-DR laser with tuning action by the temperature control using on-chip heaters is good device to satisfy these requirements in good balance. "Pre-emphasis" control is proposed for faster and small variation of the wavelength switching time. For high resolution wavelength control method using a wavelength locker including 2-etalons is developed. These controls are performed with an FPGA.
