Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) using Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (THP), 2-step signal processing of subtracting inter-user interference (IUI) and multiplying precoding matrix for the equivalent channel matrix of a lower triangular matrix is performed at the transmitter in order to avoid IUI. For suppressing the transmit power increase due to the former processing, modulo operation is applied. A combination of THP and broadband single-carrier (SC) block transmission using transmit equalization can centralize the signal processing in the transmitter, suppress inter-symbol interference (ISI) caused by frequency-selective fading, and obtain frequency diversity gain. However in conventional SC-MU-MIMO applying transmit equalization and THP in frequency-domain (frequency-domain transmit equalization SC-THP), since IUI is independently subtracted for each frequency component and ISI is avoided using transmit frequency-domain equalization, modulo operation does not sufficiently suppress the transmit power. Subtracting both of IUI and ISI in time-domain for signal blocks is expected to bring in the large effect of applying modulo operation. In this paper, we propose SC-MU-MIMO applying transmit equalization and THP in time-domain (time-domain transmit equalization SC-THP). We show, by computer simulation, time-domain transmit equalization SC-THP provides better average bit error rate (BER) performance than frequency-domain transmit equalization SC-THP. Computational complexity is compared between time-domain transmit equalization SC-THP and frequency-domain transmit equalization SC-THP.
