Abstract(in English) This paper introduces the transmission characteristics of direct spectrum division transmission (DSDT) over Ku-band satellite. For improvement of frequency utilization efficiency, DSDT divides each single carrier modulated signal into multiple sub-spectra in the frequency domain and assigns them to unused frequency resources in the transmitter (Tx) side. In receiver (Rx) side, received sub-spectra are combined and single carrier modulated signal is regenerated. We developed a DSDT modem and subject it to experiments over Ku-band satellite. The results show that the BER performance is close to that of the non-divided case.
