Abstract(in English) | Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been attracting much attention as a network component that provides network connectivity to out of service areas in cellular networks. Such UAVs can increase their coverage area compared to a single-UAV network by a constructing mesh network with swarm of UAVs. However, due to both the limitation of wireless communication range and mobility of UAVs, sometimes inter-UAV links are disconnected. Link disconnections degrade network performance such as successful communication ratio and end-to-end delay. Then, we formulate the relationship between UAVs' trajectories and probability of inter-UAV link connection. Based on the formulated relationship, we propose the trajectory decision scheme for improving probability of end-to-end link connection. Furthermore, we conduct computer simulations to evaluate the performance of our proposed scheme. |
