Enhanced Channel Estimation Based on Interference Variance for AF Relay C-HTRCI-MIMO/OFDM

Abstract(in English) To achieve high quality communications, amplify-and-forward (AF) relay multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems have been proposed. On the other hand, they require the estimation of the channel between the source-relay and relay-destination nodes in the receiver. In general, channel estimation (CE) uses a pilot signal. However, AF relay MIMO/OFDM requires many pilot signals. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a complex high time resolution carrier interferometry (C-HTRCI) to mitigate the above problem for AF relay MIMO/OFDM systems. Moreover, we propose also the enhanced CE based on the interference variance to more improve the bit error rate (BER) performance. From the simulation result, the proposed method shows the improvement of the BER performance and the best throughput performance.
