Electromagnetic Simulation of a Circular Patch Antenna at 2.45 GHz Band Attached to the Body

Abstract(in English) Antennas must be designed with considering human body in applications such as ultra wideband (UWB) radar for breast cancer detection, body area network (BAN) and so on. The electromagnetic modeling of human body was investigated using a circular patch antenna for basic study of antenna design with human body. Simulated and measured frequency characteristic of reflection agreed very well using simulation model of human body with 2 mm-thick skin and infinitely-thick fat.
