Abstract(in English) | Conventional radio spectrum resources are managed by licensed system whose spectrum is not shared with other systems. Due to the inefficiency of the current spectrum allocation, the notion of cognitive radio (CR) has emerged as an intelligent solution for finding new spectrum resource by sharing the licensed spectrum. In order to realize reliable spectrum sharing, accurate primary detection called spectrum sensing is required. In spectrum sensing, Energy Detection(ED) is the easiest method to detect idle spectrum due to the simple implementation. However, it is difficult to identify the transmitters when several systems share the same spectrum in the same time. If primary user (PU) signal cannot be detected while secondary user (SU) is simultaneously transmitting, the identified primary sensing is important. In this paper, we propose an identified primary sensing method by using ED with the long-term statistical information of PU stored in database (DB). The conventional studies of utilizing database usually considered on improving the performance of individual system sensing. However, the study of spectrum sensing, while PU and SU are active in the same time, is inadequately considered. The proposed method utilizes DB to define the PU protection threshold. In cooperative spectrum sensing, the sensing nodes which detect received power beyond the PU protection threshold are discarded in order to identify the existing of PU while PU and SU are using the same spectrum in the same time. Our analysis is evaluated by computer simulation and results show that cognitive radio user can accurately detect PU under the existence of SU. |
