Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Theoretical limitation of write amplification and write speed of solid state drives (SSDs) are affected by page size and block size of NAND flash memories, and also by amount of overprovisioning and granularity of written data. In this paper, a flash memory management method of SSDs is presented. A garbage collection algorithm of this method maximizes SSD endurance and average write speed in random write workload. Furthermore, a data management architecture is proposed. The architecture can reduce write amplification significantly when cold data which is not overwritten frequenctly exists.
