Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With the diversity of network services over the Internet, the stability and fairness of communications has been important issue. However, TCP communication often becomes unstable and/or unfair due to burstiness of transmitted packets. Thus, we have focused on packet forwarding on relay nodes to suppress the burstiness of packets. In the previous work, we proposed QMTR (Queue Management with Transmission Record) which controls forwarding order of packets using transmission records to improve the stability and fairness of communications by equally increasing transmission rates among flows. In this study, we propose QMTR-Drop which controls packet drops using drop records to equally decrease transmission rates among flows. It avoids a situation where a particular flow cannot increase its transmission rate and then improves the stability and fairness of communications. In addition, we propose QMTR-Hybrid which combines the controls of forwarding and dropping packets to improve the performance. Furthermore, we show the effectiveness of the proposed schemes through simulation evaluations.
