Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Providing enough capacity for the growing Internet traffic has been the driving force behind the development of the optical networks. Recently, two different technologies have been proposed that address the issue of the Internet's vastly heterogeneous traffic, namely mixed line rate (MLR) optical networks and OFDM-based elastic optical networks (EON). Both technologies offer flexibility in terms of bandwidth allocation and each one of them has its own strengths and weaknesses. In this paper, ILP formulations are provided with the objective of minimizing the cost and comparing these two optical network architectures.
