Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | AdaBoost is an algorithm used for pattern recognition. This algorithm successively makes the model which minimizes an error for sample data. However, to consider prediction, there is no guarantee that such model is optimum. Regarding this issue, there are many studies about regularization method and variable selection method. Forward selection method is one of the methods of variable selection method and Stagewise is one of the methods of forward selection method. Each iteration, Stagewise selects one variable. Stagewise updates parameters slightly increase and not minimizes an error for sample data. It is known that Stagewise improves the rate of a prediction error. In this research, we apply the idea of Stagewise for AdaBoost and consider improvement the rate of a prediction error. |
