Abstract(in English) It is necessary to distinguish between voluntary blinking and spontaneous blinking to realize an interface using the eye blinking. We propose a method of distinguishing between conscious, voluntary blinking and spontaneous blinking, without specific instructions provided. In this method, we first extract a column of pixels of central block from the eye region image and create an image laid out in frame order. From this image, we extract a feature value depending on the movement of the eyelids. The results show that the identification rate using this method was approximately 90% accuracy and we applied the method to switch operations.
