Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Extraordinary transmission phenomena of a Dirac cone metasurface consisting of a two-dimensional array of unit cells each with metallic patches and a connecting via are investigated experimentally. A metasurface having a Dirac cone with a non-zero group velocity at the Γ-point in the Brillouin zone is designed at the V-band, and the dispersion characteristics of the guided wave along the metasurface are obtained by angle dependency measurements of the transmittance of the metasurface. It is shown that the designed metasurface has the Dirac cone with the Γ-point frequency of 62.1 GHz. It is also confirmed by transmittance measurements that the metasurface exhibits the extraordinary transmission with the maximum transmittance enhancement of 1.4 dB at the Γ-point. Near-field measurements on the metasurface are also carried out, and it is shown by the Fresnel-Kirchhoff transformation that the transmitted wave has the narrow radiation pattern with the 3-dB beam width of ±1.7 deg in the E-plane. In addition, time-domain measurements reveal that the transmitted wave contains a decaying component that is originated by reradiation from the metasurface, leading the fact that the reradiating waves play a significant role in the extraordinary transmission phenomena.
