Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Gel is a kind of soft and wet material filled with a large amount of fluid molecules. The dynamics of gel largely depends on the internal network structure as well as external stimuli such as the applied force, pH, electricity, temperature and so on. A novel type of polymeric hydrogel called the Shape Memory Gel (SMG) was developed and characterized. The SMG contains above 30% water and shows the shape memory effect. The internal network structure was characterized by dynamic light scattering system, whereas mechanical property was characterized by tensile test. The results are discussed here.
