Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) PCI-Express Adaptive Communication Hub 2 (PEACH2) is ultra-low latency high bandwidth switch for connecting multiple nodes of heterogeneous cluster by using the PCIe directly. PEACH2 is implemented on Altera's Stratix IV, a large-scale FPGA, and its extra logic can be used to implement hardware computational modules for further acceleration. In this paper, we implemented computational modules on PEACH2, and evaluated with a simple reduction module attached to Avalon-MM bus. Execution time of reduction of GPU data with the computational module in PEACH2 was compared with the case when the host CPU was used. As a result, when the data size is small, reduction in PEACH2 acheived up to 45 times performance improvement.
