Abstract(in English) | Polymer optical waveguide is expected to use for optical wiring on circuit boards of super computers, high-end routers, or mass storage devices. PMT connector (connector for Polymer waveguides connected with MT connector) was developed to use for waveguide to waveguide or waveguide to optical fiber connection. PMT connector can connect with itself or with MT connector attached to silica fibers because it has the same mechanical interface of MT connector (IEC 61754-5). This paper describes the problems and design targets of the PMT connector using for polymer waveguides. |
