Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Goal of our study is to develop a public address system which can control the sound image in any direction by using the precedence effect. While influence of sound source positions upon the behavior of the precedence effect has been investigated, most of such investigations have limitations that such behavior was evaluated by using only two incident sounds. However, there must exist multiple sound sources in practical public address systems, and it seems difficult to directly apply the results of previous investigations. In order to resolve such difficulty, we investigated the influence of the third sound source on the behavior of the precedence effect, focusing on how much the direction of the thrid sound source affects on the one perceived by the first and the second sound sources involving the precedence effect. As a result, it is shown that the third sound source has little effect when its sound pressure level is 6 dB smaller than that of the initial sounds.
