Time Domain Delayed Correlation based Cyclic Delay Estimation for Low Complexity Cyclic-Selective Mapping in OFDM System

Abstract(in English) Side information is one of the challenging issues of selective mapping (SLM). SI is required to recover the signal in the receiver side while it will reduce the throughput of a wireless OFDM system. The cyclic-selective mapping (cyclic-SLM) with delayed correlation is applied to reduce a peak-to-averege power ratio (PAPR) without SI. It generates signal candidates (SCs) by combining an original signal and its cyclic shifted signal. The proposed scheme uses delayed correlation to omit the transmision of the SI. In the receiver side, the correlation between a guard interval sequence and a received signal are exploited to estimate the amount of the cyclic shift. Compare with low complexity SLM (LC-SLM) and conventional SLM, the proposes cyclic-SLM provides significant PAPR reduction and has the accuracy of the delay estimation more than 0.99 at E_b/N_0 of 8 dB. It also obtains the PAPR that is only slightly different to the LC-SLM and the bit error rate is quite close from that with perfect delay estimation.
