Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the field of circuit simulation, homotopy methods have been studied by many researchers in order to overcome the non-convergence problem in DC operating point analysis. Studies on homotopy methods can be classified into four types; (i) those from the theoretical viewpoint; (ii) those from the viewpoint of path following algorithms; (iii) those from the viewpoint of implementation; and (iv) those from the viewpoint of homotopy functions. In this paper, we focus on the studies from the viewpoint of homotopy functions, overview the conventional studies, and propose a new method termed the variable-gain Newton fixed-point homotopy method. By SPICE simulation, we confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.
