Abstract(in English) The network maintenance and operation are desired to improve its workload-efficiency drastically due to decreasing the future workforce which results from acceleration of demographic aging. To achieve the optical transport network which can reform the conventional on-site maintenance "truck-rolls" to "scheduled maintenance operation", we proposed a high maintainable and operational scheme called the self-protection scheme. In this paper, we propose a cost evaluation method considering both equipment cost and maintenance cost. Numerical evaluations show that the proposed scheme achieves lower total cost compared to conventional one with 1+1 protection.
