Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We discuss orbital angular momentum conservation in the reflection and transmission problem at the both ends of a single-core or multi-core fiber. The result of researches of space division multiplexing using orbital angular momentum (OAM) of light is that light propagating in a single-core or multi-core fiber conserves, OAM. On the other hand, the Noether's theorem states that OAM is conserved if the system has continuum rotational symmetry around the longitudinal axis. The result of above research using, multi-core fiber seems to be contradict with the Noether's theorem because such a system does not have continuum rotational symmetry. In our research, we show that OAM is approximately conserved at the ends of any type of fiber. |
