Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to reduce surface congestion and accommodate future traffic growth at Narita Airport, more efficient surface traffic management techniques that adapt to the changing traffic situation are desired. The Electronic Navigation Research Institute is developing an airport surface traffic simulator based for Narita Airport based on the airport layout and an analysis of surface traffic data in order to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed traffic management methods. In this paper, we first present an analysis of surface traffic data required to establish the simulator parameters. We then explain the simulator's functions, and report on the validation of its ability to reproduce traffic flows at Narita airport.
