Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Fourth generation mobile communication systems called IMT-Advanced is actively investigated to increase the system capacity. Frequency assignment of 3.4 GHz to 3.6GHz band to the IMT-Advanced is investigated, because these band have possibility of assignment of relatively wide band. Moreover, assignment of 3.6 GHz to 4.2 GHz band is going to be discussed in WRC-15 which is held in 2015. Above mentioned frequency bands are already utilized for the commercial systems, path loss prediction model which cover relatively long distance is needed to investigate interference between these commercial systems and IMT-Advanced systems. Modified Hata Model which is described in Rep. ITU-R SM. 2028 covers distance range up to 100km for terrestrial propagation. However, frequency applicable range of the Modified Hata Model is up to 3GHz and frequency band of IMT-Advanced is out of range of Modified Hata Model. In this report, applicability of Modified Hata Model to 3 GHz band is verified based on experimental results assuming downlink interference from macro cell and small cell base station. More specifically, prediction error which is difference between measured value and predicted value is investigated. From the results, the Modified Hata Model tends to predict lower path loss when mobile station antenna height is relatively high such as 10 m.
