Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical biosensors, which measure the change in resonant wavelength caused by the attachment of an analyte, can detect the small amount of biomolecules attached by the intermolecular interaction, and have broad utility without relying on fluorescence label. Especially, the optical biosensor that utilize the silicon-on-insulator (SOI) photodiode with surface plasmon (SP) antenna is expected to have an ability to efficiently analyze multiple analytes by integrating a large number of sensors. In this report, the operation principle of the SOI photodiode with SP antenna is explained, in which the peak wavelength of its sensitivity changes with respect to the analyte refractive index, and the related experimental results are presented.
