Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Silver contacts are separated at constant speed and break arcs are generated in a 450V DC and 10A resistive circuit. Changing of behavior of the break arcs, the arc duration and the occurrence frequency of reignitions of break arcs are investigated by displacement of a permanent magnet. As a result, the break arcs was drawn near in the direction in which the permanent magnet was located and as the break arcs were drawn to a cathode side, the occurrence frequency of re-ignitions of break arcs increased. The arc duration decreased as the magnetic flux density impressed to a contact gap increased and as the permanent magnet approached the contact gap.
