Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Aiming at further spectrum efficiency improvement, cognitive radio that enables secondary use of vacant spectrum has been drawing a great deal of attentions. To confirm the spectrum efficiency improvement by cognitive radio and reveal the amount of spectrum available for secondary use, it is indispensable to develop an accurate spectrum occupancy measurement method on a frequency bin by frequency bin basis. To achieve this goal, we have proposed a new spectrum occupancy measurement method using the CDF (Cumulative Distribution Function) of received signal power. This paper confirms the feasibility of the proposed method by experiments and evaluates the measurement performance, e.g. measurement error according to the system parameters, of the proposed measurement method by experiments.
